DISCOVERY and DESIGNThe success of our speech enabled applications lies in the project methodology we follow. In the first phase of our projects, we start by requirement analysis, including careful analysis of industrial requirements, the goals of the service provider and the tendencies of the target users. Often, the goals of the service provider who commissions a speech application are different from the goals of the end-users that will call it. We consider all sets of goals and requirements, and form a solution that will resolve any conflicts, bringing them together in a common denominator.
Using all the information that we gathered in the requirement analysis phase, we decide on the identity of the application, giving it a
"personality" that will be the caller's trustworthy guide through the application. This step, called the voice user interface design, is critical, in that not only does it represent our customer's company to the caller, but the user interface is what coaches and encourages the callers through the speech application. As a result of our careful analysis and design steps, our goal is to create positive connections with callers by building trust and demonstrating understanding in addition to moving them through the call flow in an efficient manner and ultimately maximizing the caller satisfaction.
